UPDATE! DESIGN ON A DIME RAISED ONE MILLION DOLLARS!! BRAVO!!!
Attending this year’s Design On A Dime event benefitting Housing Works Thrift Shops was, as it always is, one of the most exhilarating and fabulous evenings of the New York Spring season. The interior design community came out in full force to support and to mingle. The opening of the shopping event was coined by participating designer Patrick Hamilton as a frenzied yet friendly free for all ‘grab it up’ moment like no other.
Watching the 1400 guests hone in on treasures, all priced at remarkable and enticing prices, was amusement unto itself. The crowd was cheery, well turned out, and with credit cards in hand ready to pounce on exquisite items such as art, lighting, accessories, furniture, and even a surface mounted shower assembly.
I am always humbled by the dedication and efforts of the participating designers and their teams to assemble and artfully display the merchandise offered for sale. If you missed last night’s opening soiree, the sale will be on until Saturday @ 6pm at the Metropolitan Pavilion located at 125 West 18th Street in New York City.
May I entertain you with a photo montage of some of the vignettes and attendees from the opening.
(I don’t think their party ended when everyone else’s did!)
