Success for Josep Font and DELPOZO at NY Fashion Week

Delpozo 2

This past Sunday I attended DELPOZO’s premiere New York runway show.  It was staged in the Starrett-Lehigh Building on the 14th floor with a gorgeous view of the Hudson River.  I predicted Josep Font (the firm’s creative director) was going to be the STAR of Fashion week Fall/Winter 2013 runway, and I was spot on with my prediction.

Every exit in this show was perfection.  Font shows that making unusual color combinations was a genius decision, and that he is a master of architecture in clothing design.  His molded and shaped shift dresses gave the models womanly figures, while still accented the waistline.

The gowns in sheer pleated silk were the best evening gowns I’ve seen in a very long time.  This collection reminded me of a modern-day interpretation of Elsa Schiaparelli, she would be proud of Font.  The embellished ivory dress, and the wool shaped jumper dresses were brilliantly seamed and pleated.

I’d love to hear what you think of this collection, and stay tuned for my Saturday post reviewing what I consider to be the best of New York’s Fall/Winter 2013!
