Returning To The D&D, Where It All Began

…………………………

The much-anticipated return of John Boone Inc. to the D&D Building has finally arrived!

John Boone, with his partner Chris Lockwood and their staff, have reinstated their high style showroom in the building where it all began over 20 years ago.  The new space is as stunning and crisp as you might expect; I paid them a visit last week, and took some pictures of their furnishings which I’d like to share….

As smart businessmen, John and Chris have held to their long-standing ‘airy loft’ presentation for their clean, classic furniture designs.  You may miss the rugged brick walled space at 1059 Third Avenue (as I will), but the clean background places greater emphasis on the striking silhouettes in upholstered furniture, case goods, lighting, art, and accessories that are offered for your consideration.

The ambiance is fresh and vibrant – with more contrast and color throughout the selling floor, and for me it looks GREAT!  And they have added many appealing new designs which are pitch-perfect for today’s decorating focus.

Large scale art by Edward Mapplethorpe (Robert’s younger brother) is featured in many vignettes and adds just the right dynamic punch.

Go on a virtual tour with a few shots I took last week when I extended my best wishes for the Holidays, and for their relaunch in their new digs;

These shots give you the idea, but I suggest you visit the showroom, located on the 7th Floor of the D&D Building, to see for yourselves how tastefully appointed the space is.  You will not be disappointed.  You can also see the collection on their website, as well as on social media.
