2013 was a very challenging year.

At times it seemed as if things were going well, then something would happen to set me back. But I also know I’m not unique – I’m betting that in some ways you probably had a similar year.

In thinking about the negative things that happened, it can be difficult to remember the accomplishments and happy times.

And that’s what brought me to my single New Year’s resolution, and the reason for the glass jar…

As the year was coming to a close, and I began to reflect, I found myself struggling to remember the positive events of the year.

(Of course that could have something to do with being in my 50’s…)

Then an idea occurred to me.

So I bought a glass jar, and put it on my desk.  Starting today, before I go to bed, I’ve resolved to write down one positive thing that happened to me everyday on a piece of note paper, and add it to the jar.  Then on January 1, 2015 I’ll be able read them all, and reflect on my blessings from 2014.
